AGRiP hires NEAMI with Jenny Emery as AGRIP’s contracted Executive Director

The Association of Government Risk Pools (AGRiP) President, Shawn Bubb, today announced the selection of Northeast Association Management Inc. to provide AGRiP’s association management services.

NEAMI is an association management company based in Latham, NY, providing public entity association management services since 1995. NEAMI currently has 72 employees providing association operations management, IT services, financial management, strategic planning, event planning, and meeting conference planning and production. NEAMI’ s executive management team has over 95 years of combined public entity experience, with the majority of the years in the public entity pooling arena.

Ms. Jenny Emery will be leading NEAMI’s team providing service to AGRIP, serving as AGRiP’s contracted Executive Director. Over the course of the next year, Jenny and NEAMI will work with existing AGRIP staff in Prague, OK to provide ongoing service and educational conference planning. During this transition period, Jenny and the staff will provide all of the highest quality services AGRiP members have come to expect, with the longer term staffing and service infrastructure to be provided by a dedicated AGRIP service team in Latham, NY.

The Selection of Jenny and NEAMI reflects the AGRIP Board’s desire to embrace the challenges and opportunities of the evolving risk pooling environment: regulation, technology, pool governance and leadership transitions, and the associated changing educational needs of members. “We are excited to engage Jenny and the NEAMI team,” said Shawn. “The Board is confident this will lead to continued growth of the organization on the solid foundation that was created by its founding CEO, Harold Pumford.”

“The pooling movement owes a debt of gratitude to Harold for his vision and commitment,” said Jenny. “I am excited to take on this challenge, with the exceptional resources of NEAMI, and strong leadership of the AGRiP Board.”

Ms. Emery has worked in the public entity pooling industry for 30 years, including 25 years with Towers Watson, and early carrier experiences with Travelers Insurance and as Risk and Benefits Manager for the Town and School of West Hartford, CT. Jenny has worked in the areas of actuarial, brokerage, health benefits, claims and risk management with over 50 pooling organizations across the US. Jenny brings a strategic approach to AGRiP’s membership needs with her unique experience in pooling and public entity risk management.

NEAMI will begin providing services on July 2, 2012, concurrent with the AGRIP staff in Prague, OK.

About AGRiP

The Association of Governmental Risk Pools (AGRiP) was organized in late 1998 as a membership organization for public entity risk and benefits pools in North America. It is a successor to the Pooling Section that operated for nearly 20 years under the auspices of the Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA).

Pools encompass the full spectrum of public entity organizations including state agencies, higher education, public or common education, all forms of local governments (cities, towns, townships, boroughs, counties, parishes, etc.), a vast array of “governmental” special districts, including health care facilities, and not-for-profit organizations.

AGRiP’s primary purpose is to provide meaningful and significant education and professional support for its members, governing bodies and staffs of intergovernmental pools.
