Ann Gergen, Senior Vice President

Ann Gergen advises NEAMI executive management and projects. Ann has 30 years of public sector employment and experience in local government management, emergency services, risk management, claims, pooled insurance services and operations.

Ann held various positions, including program manager (employee benefits pool), at the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC) and LMC Insurance Trust. She also served as director of the Arizona Municipal Risk Retention Pool and director of the Social Services Contractors Insurance Pool, also in Arizona.

Ann’s background includes reinsurance and commercial industry experience. She was Vice President of Claims and Loss Control at NLC Mutual, and was the first Director of NLC-RISC. Ann was Managing Director of the Alternative Markets Division of Berkley Risk, which serves public and not-for-profit pools and self-insured groups.

Ann is a nationally recognized resource in public sector pools. She sits on the boards of the Public Entity Risk Institute and the Upper Midwest Community Policing Institute. Ann is an attorney licensed in Minnesota and holds a Master’s in Public Administration. She teaches risk management to public safety graduate students and is a former EMT. Ann is currently the Executive Director of the Association of Governmental Risk Pools (AGRiP).


Jeff Van Dyk, Executive Vice President

Jeff Van Dyk is the executive vice president of NEAMI, responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key NEAMI business partners. He has spent 30 years in the administration of workers’ compensation providers, as an adjuster, manager, and now executive.

A 1991 graduate of SUNY Oneonta, Jeff began his professional career with General Accident Insurance. He worked for First Cardinal Corporation for seven years prior to joining NEAMI in 2008 as a technical claims manager and was promoted quickly to assistant vice president. In 2011, Jeff was promoted to vice president of claims.

Currently serving as the executive director of PERMA, Jeff is responsible for daily operations, overseeing all departments and the overall administration of the Association. He develops and maintains effective working relationships with the PERMA Board of Directors. Jeff is a NYS licensed adjuster and is a designated Associate in Claims.
