Brent A. Wilkes is the owner and president. Wilkes oversees strategic planning and quality control for the firm. He meets with all clients on a regular basis. He maintains an office in Danvers, MA and Latham, NY. Wilkes has over thirty years of experience in non-profit and government management. He has served as president since the incorporation of company in 1995. Prior to that, he served as president of MMA Consulting Group, Inc. from 1989 to 1995. From 1980 to 1989, Wilkes worked at the Massachusetts Municipal Association (MMA), a state league of local governments. At the MMA, he directed the field services division, providing technical assistance to cities and towns. He was also a principal in the establishment of the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association (MIIA), a group, self-insurance pool. From 1982-89, Wilkes served as director of operations and vice-president of MIIA. He also served as associate director of the MMA from 1984 to 1989. Prior to 1980, Wilkes served as administrative assistant to the mayor of Gloucester, MA, as a management specialist for the Massachusetts Department of Community Affairs, as an administrative assistant to the Town Manager of Tolland, CT, and as an advertising manager for a non-profit newspaper. Wilkes has earned the “Certified Association Executive” (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives, the “Associate in Risk Management” (ARM) designation from the Insurance Institute of America, and a certificate in management from the International City/County Management Associates. He has a masters degree in public affairs from the University of Connecticut. Wilkes has served as an adjuct professor at the Suffolk University Graduate School of Management. He has written numerous articles for trade publications and has conducted workshops and seminars all over the country. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Wilkes has served on the board of directors of a number of non-profit associations and has written and lectured on board responsibilities and board-staff relations. |
